On the internet trading is continuing to grow greatly inside the previous decade. Any investment investor should make use of a specialist to help key in the stock instructions.

Dividends are a way for a company to reward its shareholders for investing in a company. In this economy, many investors are looking toward dividend paying stocks to provide a sense of security. Before investing in a dividend paying stock, it is important to understand what dividends are, and how they work. Although a stock with a high yield of 11% might sound like a good investment, if you are not careful and do your homework before you buy, you might find that instead of getting 11% and stock appreciation, you are left with no dividend and stock depreciation.

The most critical thing to consider when researching a dividend stock to potentially invest in, is the company's ability to pay its dividend. A danger sign is when the firm's payout ratio (the percent of a company's earnings that is being allocated towards paying the dividend) is approaching lofty levels and is "eating up" nearly all of the earnings for the quarter. The payout ratio is not something you are going to find in your local newspaper, you are going to have to dig some, and get the information either online or at the library. I like to use Value Line investment survey if I don't have internet access or S&P's rating service either online or in paper form. The cutoff point for determining a safe ratio is up to you, but I get concerned when it approaches more than 50%.

Dividends have several dates which are important to remember, the ex dividend date, the record date and the payout date. The most important of these three dates to consider, is the ex dividend date. This is the date that determines who receives and who doesn't receive the dividends for that period. What the ex dividend date means exactly is, that on that date, the day before is the last day for a shareholder to qualify for a dividend. On that day, the stock is trading, without offering the dividend to the shareholders. For example if a stock is going ex dividend on March 11th, March 10th is going to be the last day that you could own the stock and still get the dividend for that period. The record date is simply when the company looks back at the last time the stock went ex dividend and sees who owned the stock on the date preceding it. The company then prepares to pay those shareholders a dividend. The payout date is actually when the company pays its shareholders of record the dividend.

Dividend yield is simply the annual dividend of the stock, divided by the stock price. For example if a stock is paying $5 a year in dividends and the stock's price is $100 we divided 5.00 by 100 and get 5%. Although high yielding stocks sound like good investments you have to be careful, due to the relationship between yield and stock price. If a stock's price is falling and it is still paying the same amount in dividends this will cause the yield to increase. But you have to ask yourself "why is the stock price declining"? It could be a sign that the company is in trouble and is in danger of either cutting the dividend, or eliminating it entirely. When I first started investing I was tempted to look for high yielding stocks but I soon learned, if the stock is really a high yielding stock, it could be in trouble and you soon might find yourself with no dividend at all.

Ramps by evy2010

Today this recruit was part of a group that was chosen to take a tour of the base. The drill instructors told us it was called the RAMP program. I am not sure what it stands for but it was explained that it was for recruits who are highly motivated, not so motivated and those who are borderline either way. The goal is to show us that there is life after boot camp and that we can survive it. Personally, aside from the sand fleas this recruit is having a great time.

We went to see the gas chamber, rifle range, confidence course, where the Crucible begins and a variety of other places. They even took us to see one of the fleet Marine's quarters to show us what it would look like living in the barracks. The barracks aren't very big at all. Each room holds up to four people, not a lot of space. Each Marine has their own closet area and shares a bunk bed. Only the very basics can fit in one of these rooms. All I can think about is where am I going to put all my furniture? I wonder if I will be able to qualify to live out in town housing when I get to the fleet.

As for the gas chamber, it looks intimidating. Just a small building with four concrete walls and windows. I am still trying to figure out how I will perform when the time comes. You can hear a lot of horror stories from others, mostly told to build the hype. All I have to do is keep my eyes straight ahead and do what I am told. At least that's what I'm banking on.

Anyway, it felt motivating to know that they had chosen me as one of the recruits to go along. Each day feels more and more exciting than the one before it.

Day two of the RAMP program and this time we were taken to a graduation that was happening on the parade deck. It gave me chills. The graduating class was dressed in their Service Alphas marching in sync. So much discipline in each of them. It was difficult to imagine that my platoon would be marching along that same parade deck several weeks from now. We can barely all walk in the same direction at the same time much less look like these new Marines.

I keep visualizing that day for myself with my friends and family all watching. There is little opportunity to do much of anything on your own while here but I have managed to write down a list of friends and family I want to invite to my graduation party when I get home. Along with that list is a longer, more detailed list of food that I want to have at that party. Now that's what's really important! They all somehow start with chocolate.

We were allowed to stand on the edge of the parade deck and watch the ceremony. Threatened of course with our lives if we so much as made a sound, but still able to watch. It made me excited for the future. Of course for graduation but the future of my career in general. Where would I end up? What will I be doing?

This was the last day for the RAMP program. I was glad to be a part of it. Looking forward to what tomorrow has in store for us.

What exactly is the Stock Market? It can be a great prepared method in which anybody in addition to anyone can easily sometimes obtain or promote their particular stocks and options as well as gives you

Stock Market by Tax Credits

To the outsider, the stock market appears random and erratic. What makes a stock go up or down? Experts can't seem to predict the market, so why should I even try? This uncertainty scares many potential investors away from the market and its high rate of returns. People are missing out on good money!

This is sad, because the stock market is more predictable than it appears. While they may look similar, stocks are not gambling. This article will shed some light on the unpredictable stock market and will hopefully make things predictable.

First, I have to concede one thing. The stock market is very unpredictable in the short-term. The market severely overreacts to news, whether it's company earnings, economic factors, or something silly like who wins the Super Bowl. Nobody can predict all the news, which makes the stock market unpredictable in the short-term.

But in the long-term (6-months to a few years or more), the stock market is very predictable. If the company makes a lot of money, the stock's price will go up. If the company doesn't make money, the stock price will go down.

When I purchase a share of a company, let's call it Predictable Stock Market, Inc., I am buying a portion of this business...and a portion of the money the comapny makes. I pay $60 for one share, which represents one of 6 million shares of the company. Let's say Predictable Stock Market, Inc. then earns $6 million in profit the next year. That means my portion of the earnings is $6. That's how much you're $75 share of Predictable Stock Market, Inc. made!

Now Predictable Stock Market, Inc. has a choice. The company can give that $6 directly to you as a dividend, or it can reinvest that $6 into the company to make even more money in the future. Let's say Predictable Stock Market, Inc. decides to give $2 to you as a dividend and reinvest $4 into expanding operations. The reinvested portion of earnings make the stock price go up, making your $60 share of stock will be worth around $64. And you'll have $2 of cash in your hand. It's that simple!

So you purchased the stock at $60. It's not worth $4 more and you have $2 in cash. That means your return was $6/$60...10%.

Now company's earnings are not erratic or random. If you were asked how much money Coke will make next year, where would you look first? Most likely, you'd see how much Coke made last year? (You might also look for the years before that and see if there's a history of growth, and then add that growth to last year's profits, but that's not really important). And you'd be pretty close! Unless something drastic happens, Coke will probably sell as many sodas and make as much money as it did last year.

So let's see how much we should expect to make this year if we purchase one share of Coca-Cola (KO). I go to finance.yahoo.com to find the data. One share of Coke sells for $48. Last year Coke paid $1.24 per share in dividends, and earned another $2.23 per share that it reinvested into making more soda. If the same holds true (it probably will), then I'll earn $3.47 ($1.24 + $2.23). Spending $48 to earn $3.47 equates to a 7.2% return. That's a lot more than my bank account or money market will make!

Now this won't be 100% accurate. Remember that the market will overreact to news and current events. But over the long haul, Coke will keep earning that same rate, and you can accurately predict the unpredictable stock market.

Are you still skeptical? Try it for a year! Track some sticks and predict what will happen this year. Most likely, you'll be very close in all your predictions. Although I have to warn you - You'll be disappointed by all the money you missed out on!

Don't forget, you will want to include broker fees into your calculations. For more on minimizing broker fees, read Avoid Broker Fees! Here are the Best Places to Buy Stocks.

And there you have it! Stock market investing is not gambling and it's not rocket science. If a company makes money, its stock will go up! Now that you know this, you can accurately predict the unpredictable stock market. And hopefully you can earn good, predictable returns on your investments!

The character Crazy Eyes in the film "Mr. Deeds" comments that "I watch the stock market channel all the time." The character distrusts the host of the channel and suspects that others are falling for false information, but Crazy Eyes is not as gullible. Watching programming may not help your stock picks, but knowing a little about the history of the stock market might improve your odds for investments. The stock market has offered a place for legal speculation since 1792 and it has a strong lure for many investors who may or may not know a few interesting facts about its history.

Origins

The Buttonwood Agreement of 1792 established the foundation for the modern day stock market in the United States. The earliest firms created government bonds and bank stocks the same year. The New York Stock Exchange formally organized in 1817 with just 24 brokerage firms with two open trading sessions that included reading the stock offerings on a public floor of a local Wall Street coffee house. The Dow Jones Industrial Average started business in 1896. The NASDAQ, a stock exchange based on electronic transfers, opened for trading in 1971 and this exchanged combined with the American Stock Exchange in 1998. The Philadelphia Exchange merged with the NASDAQ in 2007.

Great Depression Regulation

After the problems of margin buying and lending that contributed to the Great Depression in the United States during the 1920s and 1920s, the federal government passed the Securities Act in 1933 to regulate practices that contributed to fraud and poor economic planning. The act set up a federal disclosures and registered new stock issues. The Securities Exchange Act of 1934 added controls over fraudulent practices and disclosure and established the Securities and Exchange Commission to oversee the new regulations.

Index and Mutual Fund Trading

Stocks are not the only item traded on the stock exchange. The market also trades mutual and index funds. Massachusetts Investors Trust presented the first offerings of mutual funds in 1924, and the Wellington Fund combined stocks and bond offerings in 1928. Wells Fargo Bank established the first index fund in 1971 that allowed creation of stock market offerings by The Vanguard Group soon after the index creation.

Market Closings

Stock market closings correspond to world events. The longest closing of the New York Stock Exchanged happened July 31, 1914 during World War I when the war sent stock prices plunging. The market remained closed for a time and operated on limited hours for over four months. The market closed again in March 1933 in a "Bank Holiday" to stabilize trading during the Great Depression. President John F. Kennedy's death November 22, 1963 closed the market for the day. Trading stopped for four days after the bombing of the New York World Trade Center September 11, 2001.

The Best and the Worst Decades "The Wall Street Journal" claims investors during the 1950s saw the best returns on money invested in the stock market. The decade of 2000 marked the worst period of investment, even when the decade of the Great Depression is included. Financial reporter Tom Lauricella notes that, "Investors would have been better off investing in pretty much anything else, from bonds to bold or even just stuffing money under a mattress."

History as a Modern Investment Indicators

1. Poor Markets Include Prime Times for Investments.

The Great Depression of the 1930s included prime times for investors. The period from July 1932 through July 1933 recorded the Dow Jones Industrial Average's best year, marking a gain from 41.22 in July and increasing to 105.04 almost to the day a year later.

2. Low Risk Entrance Points Occur Regardless of Market Conditions.

The Bear Market of 1929 through 1932 provided investors a chance to enter the market with low amounts of capital. Modern investors have had similar investment opportunities, including such options as purchasing General Motors stock at bargain basement prices in 2008.

Tips to invest in the stock market through http://www.hotstockprofits.com/ by bhrat40

While always seems to get the attention of the media, silver is a viable investment as well due to its use in industrial applications and its use in coins and jewelry. Silver has been a desired element for thousands of years as a result of its beauty and workability in make jewelry and other ornaments. As far as industrial use, silver is used in high end electrical components due to its electrical conductivity. With this wide range of uses, silver should continue to be a desired commodity in the future.

One way to invest in silver is stock investing. Buying stocks in companies that produce silver is done just like any other company or industry. The top two silver mining countries are Mexico and Peru. The United States, Canada, and Australia are also large producers of silver. Investors looking for silver producing stocks may want to stay with the last three due to the more stable economies and governments in these countries. Investors need to thoroughly research companies before investing in them as their possible stock price improvement is not tied only to the price of silver. Silver is often mined as a byproduct of copper and other precious metals, so a silver producing company might not even focus its energies of the production of silver.

Most people who are seeking to invest in silver are probably of thinking of buying silver coins and silver bars. The trick here is to find sellers who are actually selling at the spot price of silver (spot plus a reasonable fee). A general rule is that the more silver you are buying the less percentage of fees you should be expected to pay. When buying coins to invest in their silver content be certain you are not buying coins for their numismatic value (the value to a collector of rare coins). Most common mintages of coins that were circulated in the past (pre 1964 dimes, quarters, halves, etc) can be bought close to their spot value, but again if you are only buying a few you will be charged a higher percentage fee. Sites such as eBay can be used to buy small lots of silver coins near spot value, or if you are lucky, even below spot value.

Remember, when buying silver or anything else for an investment look for drawbacks in price and buy low. Have patience when looking for bullion coins and get a good deal and don't just take any deal that you find. Be a long term investor and silver should pay off for you in the long run.

Have A person Actually Regarded as Striving Ones Hands With Trading Options

Stock Trading - End of Day by StockCoach

The trading of stocks and options has certainly met with a great deal of new enthusiasm as of late. Many people who have never hired a stock broker, or even traded a single stock for that matter, are being attracted to the option of trading online preferably than in the traditional manner. One of the main rationalities behind this is that most of the newer generation of stock traders have literally grown up using a personal computer for more or less any task for which it's able.

As you can probably guess, given the chance to utilize online option stock trading, this newer generation of investors will happily go online to trade. One of the advantages to online option stock trading is the power to see real time gains and losses of stocks being traded. This allows market savvy traders to be able to identify which way the stock prices have most potential to go. Another big advantage which online option stock trading offers is the chance for the trader to spot and foresee stock price variations. The ability to speculate when a price fluctuation will occur can greatly heighten the trader's profits.

Being able to foresee when a price fluctuation may happen can also enable investors to hold on to a stock longer than they would usually if they are anticipating a price surge. Naturally this also goes with its own risks, , if the trader has a bullish position, and if the price falls drastically instead of rising, then the investor could stand to lose a significant amount of capital. One of the main attributes of any successful investor is a good sense of timing.

Online option stock trading is available for all types of stocks. It makes no difference what type of stock that you may be interested in trading, because you'll find that online option stock trading covers all stocks. Want to trade common shares? You can trade it online. You will also find that you can trade issue stock, story stock, penny stock, treasury shares, synthetic stock, preferred shares, and widow-and-orphan stock.

Another huge advantage that online option stock trading offers investors is a rather fast and fairly cheap method to trade stocks. These trades can be made from anywhere that the investor can find an internet access, at home or on the road. Some of the online option stock trading websites also give investors a trial demo account so that they can practice trading before they invest any capital. These demo accounts also act as stock trading training, allowing the investors to see how everything works and to get comfortable with online trading.

One thing is for certain; before you begin online option stock trading, be sure you fully understand all of the inherent risks associated with online option stock trading. Always do your research before picking a stock, and if you're uncertain of your abilities, consult a broker.

Tips on how to establish a handicapped entry ramp

YMCA Wheelchair Ramp FAIL! by Ara Pehlivanian

Limited mobility can make it just as difficult to move over long distances as it does short distances. Many parts of the U.S. do not have convenient public transportation. A wheelchair van is designed to meet your long-distance mobility needs, even if you cannot operate pedals.

A simple lift can be installed to almost any vehicle to lift your electric wheelchair or scooter into the trunk of your car or the back of your van or SUV if you are able to walk with a cane and drive a car without modification.

A vehicle at least the size of a minivan is necessary if you want to modify the vehicle to allow you to enter in your wheelchair. Vans and even large trucks can be modified with a ramp or lift to help you get in. You can get a customized van with a lowered floor, making it possible to put a shorter ramp in the car at the same angle of ascent.

You can get into the car using a side lift, an under vehicle lift, or an internal lift. Internal lifts do not leave much room for storage in the back of the van. Side lifts save space and allow the side doors to be opened with or without deploying the lift. A lift apparatus placed under the vehicle saves storage space and keeps the driver's side view mirrors unobstructed.

You can drive a van in your own wheelchair or in the driver's seat. You can install removable front seats or modify the seat with a device which rotates it completely to the side making it easy for you to transfer yourself from your wheelchair to the driver's seat. If you drive in your wheelchair, you can secure the wheelchair to the floor using an electric locking mechanism or you can bolt specialized hooks on strong rubber cords to the floor.

You have several options in driving control modifications. If you are able to use only one pedal, you can install a system which allows you to accelerate with your foot and brake with one hand. Pedals can be circumvented entirely and the vehicle can be driven solely by hand. A handle which twists to brake and accelerate can be installed, allowing you to operate the van like a motorcycle, or push/pull levers can be used. Driving classes are available where you can learn to operate this equipment and practice before you drive. You can also install a steering knob, which is used by stunt drivers to turn quickly and which you can use to steer with one hand.

You can travel anywhere completely independently with a wheelchair van. If you travel by plane, you can also find rental services which offer modified vans.
